“For the launch event, Sonakshi wore our dark red Bagh embroidered lehenga from our ‘Modern Mughal’ collection. The set is made using dupion silk and the dupatta is crafted with weightless organza. The choli and lehenga are adorned with the ancient Persian art of zardozi and pita work. To give it a more modern look, we have incorporated leather along with the traditional sadi and nakshi materials. The outfit took over 1,000 hours to embroider. The dupatta is highlighted with intricate mukaish work,” reveals Payal Singhal about the mélange of intricate techniques that went into the making of this outfit, exclusively to Vogue.
